Hats from Edith Day

We went to the hospital today and handed out the newborn hats that Edith Day sent us. This baby girl was being tended by her dad.

We tried to find the smallest boy hat we could, but this is the best we could do. The father said to the baby boy, "This is your lucky day. A free hat."

These two girls are twins. I had a tough time keeping Sister Jones from taking one of them home with us. We had some missionaries tell us that usually when a mother here has twins, she gives one of them away to some other family member.

Wedding

We attended the wedding of this young couple. The groom, Isaac Thomas, is a member but the bride, Petra, is not. Before she can get baptized they have to get married. Many converts have to get married before baptism here. They have a "cultural marriage" but it is not a legal marriage.

Sister Jones and I were treated as guests of honor at the wedding. We sat at reserved seats at the head table and ate first after the ceremony. Also, Sister Jones was given gifts by the bride and Elder Jones was given gifts by the groom.

Timothy Family

This is the Timothy family. We had home evening with them on Monday night. He was baptized in January in the Uliga Branch.

The Bruno Family

This is the Bruno family of the Uliga Branch. We had home evening with them in their home. Brother Bruno was baptized just two months ago and is a Priest.

Couples

These are the couple missionaries at the Rita Branch Conference (Randall's, Jones', Beckstrand's, Simmons'). The members gave us the things we are wearing.

This young lady with the missionary couples is named Jo Jo Dominick. She is a member of the Rita Branch and is a terrific young lady, a returned missionary and teaches seminary in the Rita Branch and helps Sister Bleak a lot.

Fools!!!

Look what Grandma Beryl has done to her daughter and son-in-law....made them look like fools!

Haircuts

These 8 ladies all got their hair cut. In fact three of them got it cut twice. So Sister Jones did 11 straight haircuts without stopping.

Toys for kids

This shows the first kids to get some of the toys that Zach sent. They thought it was Christmas.

More Sewing

Zone Conference

Zone Conference, April 5,2008. This is all of the missionaries on the islands of Majuro, Ebeye, and Arno. This is the last zone conference for the Beckstrands, the mission nurse, Sister Fedderson, and Elders Parker, Hadley, and Christensen.

Hospital
