Catching Up

Us with Sister Loeak. We became friends with her in the MTC. She is serving in Guam. Her grandfather died and she was allowed to come to Majuro for his funeral.

After our CES training meeting we had our picture taken with the country director from Kiribati. He is the one in the center of the picture, along with President Bleak and 3 of our seminary teachers, Moaniti, Jo Jo, and Tanintoa.

Misc. from the Islands

A container ship coming into the Delap dock making it possible for us to eat and drink for awhile.

Standing in front of a large pandanus tree. These trees grow big brace roots at the bottom.

Sister Jones on the balcony of a resort cottage. People who go diving and snorkeling stay in these cottages by the lagoon.

This one's for Trevin

This picture is for Trevin. This Hummer is as close as we can get to a vehicle that looks like "General Lee". It is parked in front of the apartment building where we live. It is parked where we usually park our Toyota.

Greetings from Zach, Deisy & Family

Making Noodles

We went to the Laura Branch and Sister Jones showed them how to make homemade noodles. About 10 sisters made their own noodles and we cooked a big batch and ate the whole thing. They seemed to like them.

4th of July

This is Uncle Sam and Aunt Jemimah celebrating the 4th of July.

This is Elder and Sister Hicks celebrating the 4th of July with us. Sister Hicks is the mission nurse. They are from Mountain Green near Morgan, Utah.

The Bear Story

I was asked to give the bear story at our P-day 4th of July celebration. We played games and had a little program. The missionaries from Australia, New Zealand, Kiribati, and America sang their national anthems. I also sang a solo of "God Bless America". I still don't understand why.

The President

The man on the left is the President of the Marshall Islands, Litokwa Tomeing. On the right is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tony DeBrum. I took this picture at the fishing tournament. Also, when the President walked by me I shook his hand and said, "It's good to see you, your Honor." He shook my hand and said, "It's good to see you, too."

Special Investigator - Miss Billfish

Don't let President Bleak see this. If he does just tell him I was trying to set up a discussion with her, a gospel discussion. She is Miss Billfish for the fishing tournament. My companion is nearby.

Fishing Tournament

This is a Pacific Blue Marlin that weighed 149 pounds. It was caught by our friend, Ladie Jack. He is the guy in the blue shirt.

We saw the fish being weighed in a fishing tournament today. This is the biggest Yellow Fin Tuna caught today. It weighed 104 pounds.
